DALI+ Certification launches at Light & Build 2024
After quite some time in the making, the certification for DALI+ products has officially launched at the recent Light & Build trade fair in Frankfurt.
DALI+ which is the international standard for sending standard DALI commands over a wireless or IP transport layer is set to revolutionise the wireless space, providing an industry standard where products from different manufacturers can be used together with guaranteed interoperability. Further to this, hybrid systems will be possible running conventional DALI wiring to some locations, while utilising wireless connectivity for places where wiring access is limited or inconvenient.
Example of hybrid system:
Smartscape’s Sales Director, Daniel Mills says “This is long overdue, there is so much confusion in the market with wireless controls, with so many different proprietary systems available all using different technology, finally there is a standard that the industry can rely on, built on the tried and proven DALI protocol. We have already delivered a number of test sites and are truly excited by the results.”
At the launch, Zencontrol was the first manufacturer to have a wireless Application controller certified and Inventronics also was quick off the mark getting one of their drivers certified. These were displayed on the DALI Alliance stand at the show and were seamlessly working together.
We understand that there is already a lot of products that have been built to comply with the new standard by various manufacturers, so we expect the list of certified products to grow quickly in the coming months.
